GLBTQ+ Asian Pacific Alliance (GAPA) 2022 Annual Banquet Featuring Attorney General Rob Bonta - "Building Communities of Action"
About this event
The GLBTQ+ Asian Pacific Alliance (GAPA) invites you to its 2022 annual banquet featuring a keynote by California Attorney General Rob Bonta. The theme is “Building Communities of Action”. In light of the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, it is important to reflect on the gains that our Asian Pacific Island (API) and LGBTQ+ communities have made to advance our civil rights and liberties. But, it is also time to reflect on how communities must coalesce to protect them. We are honored to have the first Filipino American California Attorney General and a friend of GAPA to give us an assessment of the state of our rights and liberties under both federal and state law.
On top of important topic of discussion, GAPA will also be recognizing individuals and organizations that have contributed to the revitalization of GAPA . During these pandemic years, GAPA has re-established its membership services, brought back Runway, and revigorated our GAPA Chorus, Theater and Dance. The banquet will be a time to celebrate those who helped us in this journey.
