October 7, 2004 Day 4 of The Marriage Express Caravan

In caravan fashion, our day started very early in Denver, Colorado. The Gill Foundation hosted us for breakfast at 7:00am as well as having a round robin of speakers sharing their stories. Among one of the things the Gill Foundation provides are grants to LGBT organizations for educational projects. It was a fortuitous opportunity for Jeanne and Jennifer to share their story on how "The Summer of Love" came to be the "first ever Asian Rally in support of marriage equality."

We emphasized that our future projects included entering a "Marriage Equality" float in the next Chinese New Year's parade. We received a big cheer and a round of applause for our courage. There were board members who listened with much interest.

After our breakfast event, we marched over to the "Greek Amphitheater Civic Center for an outdoor rally. This event showcased our caravan comrades who are fighting for immigration equality for LGBTs. Jeanne and Jennifer stood in the crowd in their wedding outfits holding a sign in support for our friends. It did not take long for the news crews and reporters to find us. Please check out the photo and article in the "Rocky Mountain News."
